Multi-Lingual Websites (Overview)

The translation is powered by Google translate, but you have full control to override the the translation manually if Google hasn't got it quite right.

Here are some things worth knowing about Travelgenix multi-lingual website capabilities:

There are three considerations when it comes to multi-lingual travel websites:
The translation of the website
The translation of the travel technology
The translation of the products provided by the supplier
Multi-lingual websites refer to the website provided by Travelgenix, and not the travel technology widgets. The translation of the widgets are managed within the Travelgenix multi-lingual database.
The translation of live product results are dictated by the suppliers you are connected to. If your chosen supplier does not provide content in multiple languages, then it will not be translated on the website.
It's strongly advised to complete your Travelgenix website 100% before adding multiple languages. At the point of translation, the platform will create a duplicate version of your website and all its existing pages at that point in time, for every language selected and translate it automatically.
We are unable to provide website multi-lingual capabilities for websites in excess of 200 pages.
If you make a change to an existing website page in one language, AFTER you have implemented the multi-lingual feature, that change will need to be made manually on all other language versions of that page (This includes page design features AND copy changes)
If you create a new website page in one language, AFTER you have implemented the multi-lingual feature, that page will need to go through the automatic translation process for each language that is active on your website.
If you add a new language to your website, AFTER you have implemented the multi-lingual feature, then the platform will take a snapshot of your website in its current state, and duplicate the website and all its existing pages into the new language. All other concepts apply from this point forwards.
Blog posts are not available in multiple languages.
Page SEO and meta descriptions are not included in the translation, and need to be updated manually.
You can also remove just a singe page in the secondary language, and then use the 'Translate another page' option to update a single page. As an example, if you only need to make updates to an "About" page:
Go to the second language in the editor and delete the "About" page
Go back to the default language and make all necessary changes to the "About" page
Go back to the secondary language and from the pages menu, choose "Translate another page", you'll see the "About" page listed there.
Make sure the SEO and page URL match what's on the live site before republishing.
