Setting up an Instalment Payment Options in Deposit Rules - Step 1 Manage Deposit Options

1. Introduction

Let's start by mentioning that a deposit can only be applied to a refundable product and will also only apply if the customer is travelling outside of the minimum period that the full balance is due, for example if they are travelling in 3 weeks, but the full balance is due 10 weeks before check in date then they would not be offered a deposit option. This is particularly relevant to instalment payments
2. Click "Deposit Rules"

3. Setting up a Deposit Rule is a two stage process, so first click on Manage Deposit Options

4. Click "Add"

5. Create a recognisable name
Create a recognisable name, bear in mind that the customer will see this field
6. Fill in name
Fill in the name, always keeping in mind that the customer will see this on the website

9. Click "{INSTALLMENTS}"
We then need to go down to the curly brackets and select INSTALMENTS
10. Highlight "{INSTALLMENTS}"

11. Click next to "Pay for your travel in..." and Paste {INSTALLMENTS}
Click next to "Pay for your travel in..." and paste Instalments, ensure there is a space before the curly bracket
12. Continue filling in these details
You have already filled in "Pay for your travel in..." and added INSTALMENTS now we need to calculate the amount of the Instalments
type something like ..."instalments of ..."
13. Then select "{INSTALLMENTSAMOUNT}"
Again go down to the curly brackets this time to Instalments Amount
14. Highlight "{INSTALLMENTSAMOUNT}"

16. {INSTALLMENTSAMOUNT} should now appear, ensure there is a space before the curly bracket

17. Here you select the amount of the initial deposit you require
Here you select the amount of the initial deposit you require as a Percentage, as the Percentage box is checked, if this box is unchecked then this amount will be in the currency selected so, be mindful of this

19. Here you decide the minimum number of days prior to departure that you require the full balance

20. This is where you decide how many Instalments you wish to set up

21. Click here to set up the percentages of the Instalment payments
Click here to set up the percentage of the Instalment payments, for example we have set this deposit up as twenty percent so we need to select this field as twenty for the customer to make four further payments to equal the full balance
Remember the customer will only see this payment option if they are booking outside of the payment period, as an example with this option, we have set up, they will need to be booking four months and two weeks prior to check in to allow for the four instalments, and then the minimum balance date we have selected

Click Save to add the Deposit Options
24. This will now appear in your list of Deposit Options
